A matched pair of unusual North Country or more likely Scottish oak Cromwellian chairs, circa 1650, with mid century velvet and tasseled covering but additionally a 17th Century coat of arms, making it quite possibly a clan chair. The coat of arms suggests clans Swinton, Gordon, Nesbitt or Urquhart.
